The Dutch pianist Rembrandt Frerichs stands out because of his wide range of music, inspired by the jazz tradition or classical music and, at the same time, opens up passionately and thoughtfully to music cultures such as that of the Arab world through his own personal experiences and his stay in Egypt for two years. Thus, his trio is open to different directions and possibilities, collaborating equally creatively and efficiently with Italian trumpeter Paolo Fresu, English vocalist Norma Winstone or Iranian lyre player Kayhan Kalhor and, of course, with any classical musician or band. The trio’s most recent album, “A Wind Invisible (Sweeps Us Through the World)”, fully reflects their artistic quality.
